Conner Chip Cookies
This simple recipe was developed for my fine young friend Connor who loves the basic
chocolate chip cookie. Basic recipes don't have enough chips, don't bake thick and
chewy enough or yield too many cookies causing mom to be reluctant to make a batch.
This recipe makes 8 - 12 thick, chewy, chocolate-eeeee cookies.
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/8 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter with an electric mixer. Then add sugars and blend
thoroughly. Add egg, vanilla and mix until batter is smooth. 2. In a large mixing bowl
sift together flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Gradually add dryy mixture to batter and
blend until combined. Add 1/2 of chips to the batter and mix at high speed until chips
break into smaller pieces. Then stir in remaining chips. 3. Roll the doughh into 1 and a half
inch balls. To avoid flat cookies make sure the balls are made tightly. Place on cookie sheet
and bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
